Infrastructure Engineer – Cloud, Storage & Virtualisation

The role:

We are looking for a highly motivated Infrastructure Engineer to join a city based integrator/consultancy.  Working in the heart of the CBD this is a great opportunity for someone who wants to thrive in a small, dynamic team and make a large contribution to the success of our clients.   Help our clients realise their potential while ‘skilling up’ on cloud, virtualisation and BYOD technologies. Using the right combination of onsite and cloud technologies we enable our customers complete mobility including access to business applications from anywhere using any device while maintaining data security.

Working with the National Technologies team would place you firmly at the forefront of the new wave of virtual, mobility and cloud technologies. The role would suit someone who has been working in and around infrastructure projects who would like to grow and develop into a consultant/architect designing and implementing a range of technical solutions to meet real business needs.

Your day to day work will involve:

- Supporting the Cloud Services Practise manager with pre-sales/post-sales design, implementation, and support for migration and managed services projects.  Our clients want to leverage cloud infrastructure and we help them get there and get the most out of it.

- Training and keeping up to date with the offerings of our vendors and helping to build our Cloud Services Practise with innovative supportable solutions that our clients will recommend to their colleagues.

- Working with cloud/virtualisation/storage/network environments including Amazon, Azure, Telstra NetApp, Citrix, VMware, Hyper-V, Windows Server, AD, SQL and Exchange.

- Providing support for existing client deployments.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualities:

- 5 years proven technical infrastructure deployment or support experience.

- Expert Windows Server knowledge including AD and Exchange.

- A solid understanding of virtualisation technologies including Hyper-V and Citrix.

- A solid knowledge of Backup and Storage systems including Tape and SAN.

- Willing to work occasional weekends or after hours for deployment projects.

- A good understanding of networking including routers and switches.

- A burning desire to learn the application of new technologies to business and a commitment to self education.

- Excellent written and spoken English.

- Great attention to detail and time management skills.

- NetApp or other storage experience is highly desirable.
